Medical Dicta Typist

Education and Training:

• Graduate of a recognized Medical Secretary Program or equivalent.
• Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.

Experience:

• Minimum of six (6) months recent relevant experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Ability:

• Demonstrated extensive knowledge of and proficiency in Medical Terminology.
• Demonstrated ability to type a minimum of 60 wpm.
• Demonstrated ability to transcribe using a computerized dictation system.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software, e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a variety of medical and non-medical personnel and other clients.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.

Personal Suitability:

• Demonstrated positive work record and good attendance record.
