Personal Support Worker

Education and Training:

• Minimum of a Personal Support Worker Certificate from an accredited college or equivalent.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate is required.
• Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required

Experience:

• Minimum of six (6) months of experience working as a Personal Support Worker in a hospital setting

Knowledge/Skills

Ability:

• Demonstrated interpersonal / communication skills
• Current certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) and Gentle Persuasion Approaches to Dementia Care (GPA) are assets

Personal Suitability:

• Demonstrated positive work record and good attendance record
• Criminal record check satisfactory to the Hospital is required
