ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Major Gifts, the Stewardship & Donor Recognition Officer is a member of the Major Gifts, Planned Giving, and Annual Giving fundraising teams responsible for the following priorities: manage complex stewardship documents, develop customized and personalized stewardship programs for donors; provide expert advice to fundraising teams enabling a "Best in Class" donor experience, lead the development and integration of a donor recognition program and support the stewardship needs for all donor audiences.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Major, Planned and Annual Giving portfolios, the Stewardship & Donor Recognition Officer will:

  • Ensure that stewardship and reporting requirements are met, identifying opportunities for enhancement and innovation on an ongoing basis with the Foundation's donors;
  • Manage the Foundation's relationship with donors who require strategic and customized stewardship;
  • Manage and lead the creation and dissemination of annual impact and stewardship reports, including donor and program-specific reports;
  • Play a leadership role in developing enhanced opportunities for stewardship, championing innovation and new ideas to build donor engagement;
  • In collaboration with the Development team, ensure that gift agreements are monitored, terms are fulfilled, issues are identified and resolved, and communications with the donor are managed;
  • Ensure the delivery of the Foundation - wide Donor Recognition framework that includes: donor experience matrix, donor wall opportunities, and all associated policies and processes;
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders including fundraisers, volunteers, and Hospital;
  • Work closely with President & CEO and Sr. Director of Major Gifts on strategies and approaches for donor recognition that align with hospital and campaign priorities
  • Support the development of named fundraising opportunities for the campaign;
  • Participate in team and cross-functional projects as assigned;
  • Maintain Raisers Edge NXT database records, tracking contacts, communications, and moves management information

 

OTHER DUTIES AS REQUIRED:

  • Some evening and weekend work may be required.

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
We understand that no single candidate will meet every qualification listed. However, the following outlines the key qualifications we value for this position, whether candidates bring them upon application or develop them while in the role:

  • 2 years experience coordinating and implementing multi-faceted projects; preference to those in development/fundraising environment;
  • Ability to lead and execute creative development and production processes;
  • Strong collaboration and cross-functional influencing skills;
  • Experience with project management and performance measurement skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with donors, volunteers, and other key stakeholders;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and multi-task;
  • Able to manage with a high level of ambiguity and independence;
  • Problem-solving skills;
  • Experience with CRM databases, an asset, Raiser’s Edge (NXT).
  • Exposure to and experience with major gift fundraising and donors, and an understanding of stewardship frameworks and customized experiences;
  • Ability to lead and execute creative development and production processes;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are a must.

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Tact, diplomacy, and maturity in dealing with donors, volunteers, hospital staff, vendors and the general public;
  • Ability to think strategically, plan and prioritize, and work proactively to meet deadlines;
  • Team player and go-getter; always maintains a positive attitude.

 

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required for the role (or the willingness and ability to travel efficiently via public transportation for offsite donor commitments);
  • Willingness and ability to work outside of regular business hours are required.

The successful candidate will be required to obtain a current Police Criminal Record Check.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: The salary range for this position is $62,000 to $70,000. To ensure fair and equitable pay at Health Sciences North Foundation, placement on the salary range will be based on your years of experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the position.

 

LOCATION: We remain a predominantly hybrid workplace. Work is conducted onsite at the HSN Main Site (41 Ramsey Lake Rd) or Sudbury Outpatient Centre (865 Regent St.) campuses.
