KEY FUNCTION

 Enter and verify orders based on purchase and shipping orders submitted by clients. Maintain inventory and distribute to clients as equipment and products arrive.

 

REPORTING

Under the general direction of the Supervisor, Supply and Distribution.

 

DUTIES:

  1. Receive shipments, stock and prepare hospital material and equipment to route through the warehouse for distribution to clients.
  2. Participate in inventory control procedures, order verification and other warehouse related functions in accordance with established program operating procedures.
  3. Maintain current file for pending purchase orders, shipping orders and packing slips.
  4. Assist with unloading of all supplies and equipment and verify all products against packing slip and review for damages.
  5. Participate in education and training specific to current, relevant federal and provincial health and safety legislation, standards and guidelines.
  6. Participate in hospital training as required.
  7. Assist with improvement initiatives as required.
  8. Perform other duties as required. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: 

  1. Minimum of a Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent (i.e. General Education Development (GED) or Academic and Career Entrance (ACE)).
  2. Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.

 

EXPERIENCE: 

  1. Six (6) months experience working in a customer service environment is preferred.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: 

  1. Demonstrated strong mathematical skills and ability to compute simple calculations.
  2. Demonstrated working knowledge of hospital supplies and equipment.
  3. Demonstrated computer skills with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) and applicable patient information systems.
  4. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
  5. Ability to prioritize tasks. 
  6. Demonstrated compliance with HSN’s privacy policy.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to the safety of co-workers and patients.

 

PERSONAL SUITABILITY: 

  1. Successful Criminal Record Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) is required.
  2. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  3. Demonstrated professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
  4. Demonstrated positive work record and good attendance record.
  5. Ability to meet the physical and sensory demands of the job.
