KEY FUNCTION

Provide support for the management of certification and learning management systems, quality assurance system, and web-based systems (local and provincial), and assist or lead special projects.


REPORTING

Under the general direction of the Regional Manager, Trauma Services and Centre for Prehospital Care.


DUTIES
:

  1. Support and maintain web applications, including learning management systems, quality assurance systems, and other web-based systems.
  2. Develop and maintain online educational tools and materials.
  3. Administer the Learning Management System (LMS), including posting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and tracking of educational learning materials.
  4. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for all web based applications.
  5. Manage and maintain data in web-based applications, including validation processes.
  6. Develop and support quality assurance and control procedures for all web based applications.
  7. Support audio and visual equipment and processes for the delivery of educational programs.
  8. Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to provide expertise and support on all collaborative projects.
  9. Develop training tools and learning guides to support web applications.
  10. Actively seek improvements to information technology applications and tools.
  11. Support operational database management responsibilities, including data analysis and report writing.
  12. Advise and provide support for social media and digital initiatives.
  13. Prepare reports and documentation related to quality assurance, certification and education.
  14. Participate in Policy and Procedures development.
  15. Coordinate special events and projects as required.
  16. Determine and align improvement projects with HSN’s Strategic Plan; monitor and adjust to achieve goal outcomes.
  17. Contribute to learner development by providing academic support, mentorship, preceptorship and supervision as required.
  18. Participate in education and training specific to current, relevant federal and provincial health and safety legislation, standards and guidelines.
  19. Educate and promote health, safety and wellness in the work place.
  20. Represent the department or program on various committees, including regional and provincial

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: 

  1. Minimum of a two (2) year Diploma, from an accredited college.
  2. Certification in Project Management or currently pursuing certification is preferred.
  3. Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.

 

EXPERIENCE: 

  1. Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience in providing technical support for Learning Management Systems, Quality Assurance Systems and other web-based systems.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: 

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of best practice data management methodologies and approaches.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of health care systems and health information systems.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and hardware requirements.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of web and graphics design.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of Moodle LMS for course creation, content management, learner engagement in online and hybrid learning environments.  
  6. Demonstrated ability to develop quality reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Demonstrated ability to format and draft correspondence, forms, reports, and proposals.
  8. Demonstrated excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook) and patient information systems.
  9. Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  10. Demonstrated technical competence, judgement, analytical and problem solving skills.
  11. Demonstrated training, experience or utilization of quality improvement methodology for process improvement.
  12. Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to organize and prioritize as required.
  13. Demonstrated ability to independently identify issues, plan improvements, measure success and continue improvement.
  14. Demonstrated discretion and maturity when handling confidential information.
