Charge Respiratory Therapist

Education And Training:

• Current certificate of registration with the College of Respiratory
• Therapists of Ontario.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field is preferred.
• Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.

Experience:

• Minimum of five (5) years recent and relevant experience in Respiratory Therapy.
• Specialty certifications are preferred.
• Related leadership experience including training, coaching and mentoring staff, students and colleagues.
• Adult teaching and supervisory experience is preferred.
• Experience in a leadership role is preferred.

• Demonstrated clinical competence.
• Team building capacity.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others.
• Demonstrated ability to develop policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge of quality initiatives and positively supports the effective operation of the department.
• Demonstrated knowledge in the accreditation processes.
• Demonstrated knowledge in the Infection Prevention and Control Practices.
• Demonstrated excellent computer and keyboarding skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint and Meditech computer system.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
• Demonstrates excellent organizational and time management skills; self-directed.
• Demonstrated excellence in team building and communication.
• Adaptability to new technologies and processes.

Personal Suitability:

• Demonstrated positive work record and good attendance record.
• Proof of ongoing commitment to self-development.
