As a Clinical Student Extern at HSN you would be joining a dynamic multidisciplinary team of Medical and Rehabilitation professionals who are highly dedicated to provide exemplary care to patients and families in Northeastern Ontario.

 

Program Overview

The Clinical Student Extern Program is an exciting opportunity available to actively enrolled nursing, paramedic, undergraduate medicine, and respiratory therapy students to enhance their skills in a hands on setting.

 

Clinical Student Externs will be working in the capacity of an unregulated health care provider. Opportunities vary amongst departments and statuses across the organization. Future opportunities may be available for various durations until March 2025. The rate of pay will be $20.60/ hour.

Educational Requirements:

Nursing

BScN or BN Program: 1st to 4th year

PN Program: Final year

Paramedic

Approved paramedic program: 2nd year

Undergraduate Medicine

MD Program: final year or recent Canadian medical graduates awaiting the start of residency

Respiratory

Diploma in Respiratory Therapy: 2nd to 3rd year

Physiotherapy

Approved physiotherapy program: any year and is accredited by PEAC 

Occupational Therapy

Approved occupational therapy program; any year and is accredited by CAOT
