Dialysis Technologist

Education and Training:

• Community College diploma in electronics engineering, dialysis technology or biomedical engineering
• Membership with the Canadian Association of Nephrology Nurses and Technologists, National Association of Nephrology Technicians/Technologists, or with the Ontario Association of Certified engineering Technicians/Technologists
• Current factory training service course certificates for Dialysis Delivery System servicing
• Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.

Experience:

• Recent dialysis experience is preferred within the last 12 months

Knowledge:

• Current knowledge of CSA and other related safety standards/legislation as they apply to medical devices and systems used in Nephrology.

Demonstrated Skills/Ability:

• Demonstrated teaching skills as patient training is involved
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

Personal Suitability:

• Demonstrated positive work record and good attendance record
• Commitment to excellence in patient care and to professional practice
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel overnight on a regular basis
