Dietitian

Education and Training:

• Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario is essential.
• Membership in the Dietitians of Canada preferred.
• Completion of Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and an accredited Dietetic Internship Program is essential.
• Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.

Experience:

• Minimum of six (6) months’ experience in an acute care setting.
• Experience in Critical Care setting is preferred.

Knowledge/ Skills/Ability:

• Demonstrated ability to manage nutrition issues and counsel patients in nutrition principles, dietary plans, food selections, and adapting dietary modifications to the patient’s lifestyle is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team, as well as being able to work independently and prioritize workload is essential.
• Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency in Meditech and Microsoft Office software, e.g. Outlook.

Personal Suitability:

• Demonstrated positive work record and good attendance record.
