POSITION SUMMARY:

This is an exciting time to be joining and building your career at the Foundations of HSN as the Donor Relations and Recognition Assistant, as we have recently seen exceptional momentum and growth. A newly created strategic plan that is rooted in collaboration, growth, and impact has helped guide the organizations in a direction that will support enhancing critical care and research throughout HSN. Our plans are ambitious, because the health needs of the communities HSN serves are significant and important.

 

Reporting to the Philanthropy and Stewardship Officer, the Donor Relations and Recognition Assistant will play a pivotal role in assisting with the creation, continuation and enhancement of donor relationships and the Foundations’ recognition program.  This also includes working collaboratively with various Foundation team members to build strong relationships to ensure a successful outcome of all campaigns and activities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support staff with ongoing donor relationship management tasks, including identifying and completing stewardship touchpoints such as impact report delivery, thank you letter distribution and other tasks as needed
  • Provide support in auditing, categorizing and recording existing historic donor Recognition for the Foundations
  • Assist in identifying and digitizing onsite historic donor recognition information and updating donor records into database
  • Work in collaboration with the other staff to enhance and execute a robust donor stewardship program (including supporting the execution of personalized stewardship plans for large-scale donors)
  • Aid in the development and delivery of reports, videos and other vehicles of communication to donors
  • Support the development, preparation and transition to digital donor recognition technologies
  • Participate in and support the planning of the Foundations’ large-scale fundraising Campaign, and support the development of its donor recognition plan
  • Provide exceptional customer service and build positive relationships with donors, prospects, HSN staff, event attendees, sponsors, volunteers and members of the public
  • Other duties as required to support the Foundations’ staff.

 

OTHER DUTIES AS REQUIRED

  • Due to the nature of this role, some evening and weekend work will be required.

 

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  •  Diploma/degree in public relations, communications, marketing, event planning or related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Superior organizational abilities and detail-oriented approach to tasks
  • General knowledge of industry standards and best practice, and practical experience in the charitable landscape is preferred
  • Proven creative and strategic thinking;
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects while delivering on schedule;
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of professionalism and skilled at maintaining composure under pressure;
  • Ability to lead by example and achieve the desired results by supporting others;
  • Ability to outline and meet or exceed goals;
  • Valid driver’s license and daily access to a reliable vehicle;
  • Bilingualism is a definite asset;

 

The successful candidate will be required to obtain a current Police Criminal Record Check.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Standard work week of 37.5 hours, but evening, weekends, and overtime hours may be required.

The Foundations at HSN have instituted a hybrid working model and the successful candidate will be expected to work both in office at HSN and at home
