Medical Radiation Technologist – Nuclear Medicine Opportunities

Our Nuclear Medicine department stands out for its size, state-of-the-art equipment, and the strong sense of teamwork that defines our staff. We currently have six gamma cameras, a bone density machine, three hot labs and a dedicated PET department, we are fully equipped to serve the diverse needs of our patients, not just locally but across all of Northern Ontario. Our department is housed in a spacious, bright facility with large windows and beautiful rooms, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for both patients and staff. In our Nuclear Medicine and PET department, the candidate can expect a dynamic and varied workload, with the opportunity to perform a wide range of procedures. Some examples are bone scans, WBC scans, thyroid uptakes and scans, along with thyroid ablation therapies, renal scans, V/Q scans, gastrointestinal studies, cardiac studies, etc. Additionally, we perform bone density tests and oncology PET scans, giving you exposure to different technologies and patient care. Coming in 2026: Replacement of two of our older gamma cameras with state-of-the-art technology. A StarGuide camera and a second 870 CZT system will be installed, further advancing our technology to enhance diagnostic precision and optimize patient care across the North.

Medical Radiation Technologist – Nuclear Medicine Qualifications/Skills

  • Minimum of a three (3) year Advanced Diploma in Molecular Imaging, from an accredited college
  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologist of Ontario (CMRITO). However, candidates expected to obtain registration in the next few months and recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.
  • Additional qualifications may be required. 

 

Salary Information: $36.84 - $50.24 / hour

French Language Service (FLS) Designation: 
Bilingualism requirements will be posted in accordance with the FLS Designation Plan. If a position is designated bilingual and no bilingual candidates (both internal and external) meet the qualifications, unilingual candidates may be considered.
